Ripe peach, tropical flowers, honeysuckle, spice, and a kiss of chalky minerality all emerge from the 2024 Chardonnay Goldberg Variations Hyde Vineyard, another rich, yet still vibrant Chardonnay from Paul Lato. Barrel fermented and aged 15 months in 50% new French oak, it’s beautifully balanced, medium to full-bodied, with a rounded, layered mouthfeel and integrated acidity. I love it today, but this sexy, seamless, utterly impossible to resist beauty will keep for 5–7 years, probably longer. 97 points rated by Jeb Dunnuck
